eBook Daily Marketing Plan!

Marketing Plan Week One

Monday:

Open 3 new free e-mail accounts. Search on the major search engines under "free e-mail" and you will find a ton to choose from. You need one account for your business, one for search engine submissions and you need one to join e-mail lists and discussion groups. You may even need more free e-mail accounts if you want to measure the success of promotions you do with your books.

Sign up for a free autoresponder. Take the best chapter out of your eBook and load it into the new autoresponder.

Find 3 mailing list owners and e-mail each of them offering to send a free chapter from your new eBook to offer their list membership. Give them one of your new e-mail addresses as a return address.

Tuesday:

Create a news release and search on your newsgroups and e-mail lists with "eBooks" as the search word and find groups where you can send your release.

Send out a news release to announce your eBook to your local and regional newspapers. Send them to as many editors as you can find. For example, send a news release to a local news editor, a feature editor and a book review editor.

Conduct an Internet search using the keyword "eBook publishers" and request copies of contracts from three eBook publishers.

Wednesday:

Go to searchenginewatch.com and read information on creating META tags for your website.

Now insert the META tag information on each of your website pages. If you have no website, go to the top 10 search engines listed and complete the forms to add an URL. The URL (universal resource locator) will be the address of your eBook location at Mightywords.com or any other of your eBook publishers' websites.

Go to John Kremer's Website at: http://www.bookmarket.com

While you are at bookmarket.com, look up the top 100 book marketing sites. Pick 2 marketing activities from that list and market your eBook.

Look up 3 local or school librarians and ask if their libraries host readings by local authors. Educate the librarians on your eBook.

If you have written children stories, contact the elementary schools as well and ask the principal if they bring in authors to speak. Children need positive role models. They need you. Some schools will actually have a budget to hire you to speak.

Thursday:

Look for 3 new eBook publishers and booksellers. Make sure they only require non-exclusive rights to your eBook. You want to list with as many eBook sellers and websites as you can find.

You can make all of these contacts by e-mail and fax machine. eBook sellers and publishers prefer to be contacted that way. Even traditional Internet Bookstores like Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com prefer to conduct business without hearing your voice.

This is great because it relieves the "jitters" and allows you to complete many more contacts than you could ever accomplish by telephone or in person.

Look for 3 magazines that cater to your eBook audience. If you are a romance writer, find 3 magazines that advertise lots of romance books. If you write about self-improvement, find 3 magazines that focus on self-improvement.

Send the editors a query e-mail to consider publishing one of the chapters from your eBook.

Some magazines will actually pay you "serial rights" to publish your eBook chapter and circulate it in their magazine. Even if they don't pay you they will include an author's bi-line that features your book title and where their readers can purchase it.

Friday

Analyze what you accomplished this week. Continue to study this eBook and invest in John Kremer's 1001 Ways to Market Your Books. John is the best resource in the book publishing industry. His book will give you hope and encouragement. You will be filled with excellent ideas.

Compose e-mail templates that offer some of your content to newsgroups, e-mail lists and websites that have many subscribers. Offer to write articles as well, in return for your e-mail signature or bi-line promoting the URL of your eBook.

Make all of your offers via e-mail saving time and money.

Plan on expanding your marketing activities next week and every week!

Marketing Evaluation for the Week

Evaluate what you have accomplished. How do you feel about your marketing efforts? What have you done so far? What kind of responses are you getting for your marketing efforts? Did you forget anything? What can you do better the very next time you engage in that marketing activity?

For week number two begin by making a list of the items you did not work on during week one and integrate them into week two.
